The Australian League of the FEI World Cup Jumping

The FEI World Cup Jumping has now entered its 31st year. The series, created in 1978, today comprises 13 leagues on all continents. The best riders from 116 World Cup preliminary competitions will qualify for the 2009/10 Final in Geneva (SUI)  which takes place from 14 - 18 April 2010.

The Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI), founded in 1921, is the international body governing equestrian sport recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and includes 133 National Federations.

Equestrian sport has been on the Olympic programme since 1912 with three disciplines - Jumping, Dressage and Eventing. It is one of the very few sports in which men and women compete on equal terms. It is also the only sport which involves two athletes - horse and rider - and the FEI has relentlessly concerned itself with the welfare of the horse.

FEI Registration of World Cup Horses and Riders
FEI  registration has been mandatory since 2006 for riders and horses taking part in international competition. So far late registration was possible shortly after the competition had taken place. This will change soon. Once the new FEI registration system is in place mid-2008, all FEI registrations will have to be completed prior to competition. If a registration is not done prior to the competition, the entry at the event will not be accepted by the FEI and the rider or the horse will not be authorised to participate in the competition.

Documentation for World Cup Horses
A National Identification document or an FEI passport, appropriately validated by the National Office, is required for all horses taking part in World Cup events in Australia. These documents will need to be revalidated every four years to remain current. National Identification Document & FEI Passport order form.

Please note it takes at least 10 days, from the time you order, for a National Identification Document or FEI Passport to be appropriately validated.

Timing

JUMPING - Timekeeping 04/11/2008

National Federations were asked to remind their Organising Committees that as of 1/1/2009, only timekeeping systems that have been approved by the FEI may be used at FEI Jumping events.

The list of approved timing devises, as well as the test proceedure for the approval of timing equipment, can be found on the FEI website (www.fei.org). Simply navigate to Jumping then click on Technical Info under Organisers on the left hand side, where you will find a section entitled "Proceedure for the approval of timing equipment".
