School will be eliminated if help is not provided at the times stipulated on roster unless arrangement is made with Annie at Secretaries office prior to start of competition.

Please check team lists at secretaries tent prior to start of day  to ensure teams are entered correctly- no changes can be made after start of competition.

Expressions of Interest for Appeals Tribunal

The Board and Branch Commitee have recently adopted new Disciplinary By-Laws which operate in conjuntion with the National By-Laws. As a result it is necessary to establish an Appeals Tribunal to deal with appeals related to strict liability offences & any matters refered to it under National By-laws. EFAV is therefore seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons to form a group from which an Appeals Tribunal can be drawn when required.

Young Rider Trip to New Zealand

Congratulations to the following riders for their selection to the Squad Trip to New Zealand.

We are looking for a Chef for this trip- it departs on the 29^th Oct and returns on the 4^th November.  If you are interested please let Annie know ASAP.

Young  Rider Squad

The next weekend is the 30/31^st August.  If you are not planning to attend please let Annie know ASAP.  The times will be published on the website Monday 25^th August. 

We also have the Young Ambassador Dinner on the Sat night to be held at Werribee.  The cost is $75 for your meal and band.  There is a shuttle bus service operating from WPNEC to the venue.  If you wish to purchase tickets to support Scott Taranto, Megan Joyce, Toni Scattergood and Katherine Stewart as our Jumping finalists please contact michelle@efavic.com .au to organise your booking. 

The squad dinner will go ahead as planned and the guest speakers will be Casey Mattson (just returned from Belgium) and our Olympic visitors- Paul, Sam and Teagan to report on the Jumping at Beijing.  We should have some video footage as well!! 

The squad uniforms have mostly been received and payment would be appreciated on collection.  Thanks to Zilco and Bestitched Embroidery and Cranbourne Horsepower the State Squad members attending  will be receiving their rugs. 

Trip to Korea

Check out the National website www.equestrian.org.au               The Equestrian Federation of Australia has received an invitation from the Korean Equestrian Federation for a Team of four (4) riders and a Chef d’Equipe to compete in the International Business Group Equestrian Competition held from 21 - 25 October 2008 in Seoul, Korea.

The event will consist of a Teams competition followed by an Individual competition. The maximum height will be 1.05m for the Teams competition and 1.10m for the Individual competition. Three (3) of the four team riders will be eligible to compete in the Individual event.

The EFA would like to invite members to indicate their interest to compete at this competition in Seoul, Korea. 

The Show Organising Committee will provide the following:

• Transfer from (airport - hotel - airport) and to and from the show ground.
• The competition horses
• Social Events

The riders will be responsible for:

• Arrangement and expenses of travel (flights) to and from Korea.
• Accommodation expenses at the Hotel Riviera. Double rooms (incl. Breakfast) US$170pp or Twin rooms (incl. breakfast) US$110pp a night
• Insurance (The EFA National Office can assist with this insurance)

The EFA National office will provide administration support and team uniforms for all riders and officials.

Interschool

Dont forget the Interschool Jumping Competition is to be held at Werribee on Friday 22^nd.  Entries to Annie.  Great day for our young jumping riders.

Riders Rep & Selectors

Thanks to the dedicated riders that attended the Riders Rep meeting  at Werribee.  The following action was taken – The motion to appointed Riders Reps for each jump Club was passed and the following are the Riders Reps for Victoria for the coming year subject to them accepting the position:  Peninsula – Greg Smith, Port Phillip-Phil Stephens, Melb-Becky Allen, Border Dist- Des Gleeson, Sale- Gavin Chester, Yarra Valley-Adam Prime, Geelong-Brett Hickey, Carramut & Nthn Vic are yet to be advised.

The Victorian Selectors were put forward by the Clubs and the following people were chosen by ballot- Greg Smith, Paul Williams, Morris Clarke, Yvonne Morrison and David Sheppard.  The selectors have a two year term.

Australian Champs

The 2008 Australian Champs are to be held in Canberra on Oct 9-12th.  The program can be downloaded from www.nswsjc.com   The Victorian Sub committee is going to provide assistance to team members.  If you would like to be considered for the Young Rider, Junior or Senior Team please download an expression of interest form and return it to Annie.

Dressage Festival Secretary Required

The 2008 Saddleworld Dressage Festival needs a motivated organised person with good office skills to join the committee in the role as event secretary. This is your opportunity to work “inside” the organization of one of EFA Victoria’s major dressage events. The role will include the period 9^th-14^th December on site at the event at Werribee Park as well as handling enquiries, attending meetings, collating entries and many other organizational details.
